August 15, 2016
In August 2015, NAST began a multi-year review of its standards and guidelines. The first phase of the review focused on the standards of graduate studies in theatre. This second phase will focus on the standards for undergraduate studies in theatre.
The first comment period for undergraduate standards extends from August 15 to October 1, 2016. We invite all representatives of member institutions, constituencies, theatre professionals, deans, accreditors, students, interested parties, and the general public to engage in this review. The comments received in this comment period will influence any proposals for changes to the standards.
A hearing on the undergraduate standards will be held on Friday, March 17, at the NAST 2017 Annual Meeting in Henderson, Nevada. No action to revise the undergraduate standards will be taken at the 2017 Annual Meeting.
