Annual Meeting sessions will offer the opportunity for consideration and discussion of issues significant to the activities of theatre units and the well-being of administrators, faculty, and students. Topics to be considered include student achievement, designing curricular programs, season selection in support of curricular goals and aspirations, establishing industry connections which align with curricular mission, artful leadership, legacy planning, intimacy training for faculty and students, and deepening awareness regarding student mental health issues.
Sarah Bellamy, Artistic Director of Penumbra Theatre Company, will present the Keynote Address to the Association. Mark Heckler, President of Valparaiso University, will conduct a working session focusing on artful leadership.
Training sessions will be offered for individuals preparing for accreditation reviews, and for new and current visiting evaluators. Informational sessions will be offered regarding accreditation processes and procedures; annual reporting requirements; and federal issues. Continuing a comprehensive review of its standards, NAST will offer an open hearing specifically devoted to discussion of standards pertaining to purposes and operations, as well as two-year degree-granting programs and applicable appendices. Opportunities will be provided to listen to and share thoughts during discussion groups. Attendees will also gather socially to enjoy fellowship and renew connections during scheduled meals and social functions.
