Report of the NAST Commission on Accreditation 2021

The official report of actions taken by the NAST Commission on Accreditation at its meetings of March 2021 follows.

REPORT OF THE COMMISSION ON ACCREDITATION

April 2021

After positive action by the Commission on Accreditation, the following institutions were granted Associate Membership:

Five Towns College

Los Angeles Performing Arts Conservatory

South Dakota State University

Utah State University

After positive action by the Commission on Accreditation, the following institution was granted Membership:

Southern Utah University

After positive action by the Commission on Accreditation, the following institution was granted Membership:

Southeast Missouri State University

Progress Reports were accepted from one (1) institution recently granted Associate Membership.

 Action was deferred on three (3) institutions applying for Membership for the first time.

Progress Reports were accepted from four (4) institutions recently granted Membership.

After positive action by the Commission on Accreditation, the following institutions were granted renewal of Membership:

Auburn University

Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania

Del Mar College

East Carolina University

Kent State University

Ohio State University

Purdue University

Slippery Rock University

Towson University

University of California, Los Angeles

Virginia Commonwealth University

West Texas A&M University

Action was deferred on five (5) institutions applying for renewal of Membership.

Progress Reports were accepted from eleven (11) institutions and was acknowledge from three (3) institutions recently granted renewal of Membership.

Three (3) applications for Substantive Change were approved.

Action was deferred on one (1) application for Substantive Change.

Progress Reports were accepted for one (1) application regarding Substantive Change.

Twenty-three (23) programs were granted Plan Approval.

Progress Reports were accepted for thirteen (13) applications and acknowledged for one (1) application regarding Plan Approval.

Action was deferred on nineteen (19) programs submitted for Plan Approval.

Seven (7) programs were granted Final Approval for Listing.

Action was deferred on one (1) program submitted for Final Approval for Listing.

Four (4) institutions were granted second-year postponements for re-evaluation.

One (1) institution was granted third-year postponements for re-evaluation.

Nine (9) institutions were notified regarding failure to submit the 2020-2021 HEADS Data Survey.

One (1) institution was notified regarding failure to submit the 2019-2020 HEADS Data Survey.

One (1) institution was notified regarding failure to submit the 2018-2019 HEADS Data Survey.

One (1) institution was notified regarding monies outstanding for 2019-2020.

Three (3) institutions were notified regarding monies outstanding for 2020-2021.

Twelve (12) institutions were notified regarding successful submission of the Supplemental Annual Report 2019-2020.

Two (2) institutions were placed on probation.

Four (4) institutions (Missouri Western State University, Saint Cloud State University, Upright Citizens Brigade Improv and Sketch Comedy Training Center, Wayne State University) withdrew from Membership during the 2019-2020 academic year.
