Lawrence Larsen

Lawrence (Larry) Larsen is Professor of Theater and Associate Academic Dean at the University of Portland, where he has taught Fine Art, Design, and Theater Production for 24 years.

Professor Larsen has designed shows professionally in Portland, Oregon, for over 29 years. Recent scenic design work includes All My Sons and Marisol (Portland Actors Conservatory); Nordic Lights (Portland Revels); Company (Broadway Rose Theatre Company); and The Pirates of Penzance for Mock’s Crest Productions, of which he is the Artistic Director. Professor Larsen has also designed for Oregon Children’s Theatre, Artists Repertory Theatre, Third Rail Repertory Theatre, Theatre Vertigo, Portland Repertory Theatre, Tygres Heart Shakespeare Company, Northwest Children’s Theatre, Summer Repertory Theatre in Santa Rosa, and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival/Portland, where he was the Design Associate for six seasons.

He was first elected to the Commission on Accreditation in 2015.

Professor Larsen holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Washington in Scenic and Lighting Design.
