Linda Pisano

Linda Pisano is a Professor of Costume Design and heads the Master of Fine Arts program in Costume Design at Indiana University. She is currently finishing her seventh of eight years as Chair and Producer of the Department of Theatre, Drama, and Contemporary Dance. Professor Pisano teaches MFA, BFA, and BA students and has directed a study abroad program in London since 2004. 

At Indiana University, Professor Pisano was elected to the Bloomington Faculty Council (BFC) as well as the campus level Faculty Board of Review (FBR), both three year terms. The FBR reviews appealed decisions made at the Vice Provost for Faculty and Academic Affairs (VPFAA) and Provost levels regarding faculty sanctions, decisions regarding misconduct, or other significant faculty issues. 

Professor Pisano designs nationally and internationally, and has garnered several awards, honors, and exhibitions over her career. She is currently one of a handful of Mellon/BigTen Alliance Presidential Arts and Humanities Fellowship recipients in the inaugural year of the program. She has been awarded and actively participated in the BigTen Alliance DEO (Department Executive Officers) national program and their ALP (Academic Leadership Program) for academic level administration. Professor Pisano spent six years as an elected member of the Board of Directors of USITT, along with other leadership with the organization. 

Professor Pisano received her Master of Fine Arts degree in Costume Design and Technology from The Ohio State University, a Master of Arts degree in Theatre with an emphasis in Theory and Criticism, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Acting and Directing from Utah State University.
