Eric Lange has served as the Department Head for Theatre at the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) since 2004. He previously served as the Technical Director for the department. He continues to provide some lighting design for Theatre UNI and has provided lighting consultation for a number of high school, university and community venues in Iowa. Prior to working at UNI, he was the staff technical director for the Theatre Department at Vanderbilt University.
Professor Lange has worked professionally for theatre organizations and venues including the Alley Theatre, the Dallas Theatre Center, the Philadelphia Academy of Music, and the Tennessee Performing Arts Center. Since 1983 he has worked as a designer, technician, consultant and manager for productions in regional, community and educational theatres.
Professor Lange serves NAST as a visiting evaluator. He was a member of the Committee on Nominations in 2017.
Professor Lange holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Temple University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Trinity University.
