Ann M. Haugo

Ann M. Haugo serves as the Director for the School of Theatre and Dance at Illinois State University and Producer of the Illinois Shakespeare Festival. Her teaching and research focus on American Indian and First Nations theatre and performance and gender in U.S. theatre and performance. She is a core faculty member for the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies program and affiliated faculty with Native American Studies and Ethnic Studies. Professor Haugo has contributed to numerous publications in the areas of indigenous theatre studies and decolonial theory and practice.

Professor Haugo serves NAST as a Visiting Evaluator.

Professor Haugo holds Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Arts degrees in Theatre History from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bemidji State University.
